Photoshoot in Vilaflor
with Sweet Family
Some family photoshoots start with excitement, and some start with one family member feeling unsure. Marcsi couldn't wait for the experience — Peti mostly just wanted to get through it. In the end, they chose a longer package, which meant visiting two different locations in Tenerife.
The Calm of Vilaflor — With a Short Stop at Playa del Duque at Dusk
We started in Vilaflor — a small town surrounded by the pine forests of Corona Forestal, part of the woodland that rings Teide National Park. This is where most of the day happened: the mountain air, the scent of pine, and the quiet gave the session a completely different feel from a typical beach holiday. The sky was a brilliant blue, and the altitude brought out especially vivid colors — the pine forest and the volcanic landscape offered plenty of shapes and tones for genuine, lived-in moments. Later, we made a quick stop at Playa del Duque, but by the time we got there, the light was already fading, so we only took a handful of photos — the real focus of the day stayed up in the mountains.
A Deliberate Choice of Location for a First, Uncertain Session
I knew that the camera alone was already stressful enough for Peti — let alone a busy, crowded location with people constantly moving around us. That's exactly why we chose Vilaflor's calm, intimate atmosphere as our first stop: the peaceful scenery, the fresh air, and the quiet all helped him gradually relax, with the help of a few easy games and simple prompts.
Watching Someone Let Go of Camera Nerves
As time went on, Peti grew more and more confident, and by the end of the day, I think he was enjoying himself almost as much as Marcsi and their little girl. That's one of the best feelings as a photographer — when someone ends up genuinely glad they went through with it. Clients who started out tense in front of the camera often come up to me afterward and tell me they never expected it to be this much fun.
What Stays With You After a Day Like This
There was laughter, hugs, quiet moments, and plenty of joy — everything that truly brings a shared family experience to life. By the end of the day, it wasn't just beautiful photos that came out of it, but a shared memory, one that will hopefully bring back that same feeling from their special day in Tenerife for years to come. So much love, and the magic of time spent together, comes through in the finished photos. I hope they find a lot of joy in these memories.
